THE FIRST STEP

"The two important things I did learn were that you are as powerful and strong as you allow yourself to be, and that the most difficult part of any endeavor is taking the first step, making the first decision."
~Robyn Davidson

When YOU have decided that adoption is right for your family, we can help you craft the plan that meets your unique needs.  Click here for Frequently Asked Questions.

Calling Us Is The First Step:
Angela and Pam are ready to listen when you call.  Call 1-866-221-6562 or 386-747-7811  Once you have spoken with us over the phone and are comfortable with going forward, we will set up a time to meet with you.  If you are not in Florida, we will schedule a time to fully discuss all of your concerns and provide answers to your questions over the phone.

Your Adoption Plan:
During our meeting we will begin working on your plan.  We will help you decide what special qualities are most important to you when choosing an adoptive family.  We will discuss “open” and “closed” adoptions and what these really mean to you.  Your physical health is very important to us.  We can refer you to local doctors and help with Medicaid and insurance problems, should you have any.  We will discuss your financial needs and help you create a realistic “budget” to help ensure your stability during this time.  We will also complete our paperwork with you and provide adoption information needed to help you make the best choices.

The Process:
Your adoption plan provides the “blueprint” that directs the rest of the adoption process.  Once completed, the plan will help you decided if you want to meet the adoptive parents and when.  It will help with your delivery plans and who you would like to be with you.  How you would like your child “given” to your adoptive parents at the hospital, and much more will be in your plan.  If you deliver in the state of Florida, you will be given Consent or “surrender” paperwork before you leave the hospital.  This can be a very emotional time and we offer grief support services to help you through this.  Once you are home, your adoption plan will have prepared the family you selected for the type of contact you would like.  Updates on your child can be through pictures, letters, emails, phone calls and, if agreed to by you and the adoptive parents, visits.  Adoption and the emotions you may experience are also a “process”.  We are always a phone call away to listen when you need us.
