What do I do first?
Your first step is to call us at 1-866-221-6562 or 386-747-7811 to begin working on your adoption plan.

Do I have to pay for your services?
No, there are no costs to you.  Our services are free and confidential.

Do I get to pick my adoptive family?
Yes, through the adoption planning process we will help you determine which type of family best suites your needs and assist you with the selection process.

Do I get to meet the adoptive family?
Many birth and adoptive parents do wish to meet and find this a positive experience.  Some, however, choose not to.  Your adoption plan will help you decide what level of openness you are comfortable with and lead you toward selecting your perfect adoptive family or “match”.

How do I know the family I pick will take good care of my child?
This is one of the most commonly expressed concerns parents have.  One of the best ways to make sure that your family is qualified to adopt is to only consider families with legally prepared home studies.  Click (Home Study Qualifications) The Adoption & Family Support Center ensures that all of our adoptive families are home study ready and meet your other needs before you are matched.

Can I have counseling if I need it?
Absolutely! We believe that counseling is invaluable during this process.  We may also provide you with community resources, support groups and peers depending on your location.  You decide what services you would like.

Can I get help with my bills?
If you live in the state of Florida, the adoptive parents that you select may pay, through their adoption entity, certain living expenses.  They can pay these bills through your pregnancy and up to six weeks after you deliver.  If you live out of Florida, the rules may be different.

What about my medical costs?
If you have private insurance, the adoptive parents can assist you with YOUR deductibles and co-pays.  If you do not have private insurance we will assist you in applying for Medicaid.  If no coverage is available, the adoptive parents can assist with these expenses as well.
