PARENT PROFILE

With permission from our families, please take a look at several examples of a Parent Profile that is sent to a prospective Birth Mother.  The Adoption & Family Support Center can guide you in creating your own individualized Parent Profile.

 

A short biography of your life is a perfect way to connect with a Birth Mother.  This gives you an opportunity to describe your home life and any aspects that you wish to share.  If you are struggling on your own, contact Holly, a Creative Memories Consultant who specializes in helping families design their "Dear Birth Mother" letters.  Click on Create an Adoption Book and you will be sent directly to Holly's website or visit our Resources tab and view a list of additional services that may be helpful in your journey.

In this first example, you can make a front/back "postcard" displaying photos and a short description of your home life and what interests you may have.

This hopeful adoptive mom (shown below) has also created a website to share additional information with prospective birth moms.  In additional to creating your own website, blogging is also an excellent way to gain exposure for potential adoptive parents!

In our second example, we have a more extensive group of photographs depicting a family's life together and a letter that high-lights their home, interests, family, travel, pets, religious beliefs.  As you take on this project you may add on additional information that you feel you would like to provide a possible Birth Mother.

 

Click here to read a short biography, poem and letter specifically written to the perspective Birth Mother that the family below used in their profile.  As you will notice, this is a complete Dear Birth Mother Packet and Adoptive Parent Profile.  It contains all the letters, stories and photographs they wished to share.  This will lead YOUR birth mother to you so be creative, speak from your heart.
